I tend to order anywhere from XS-M depending on the brand, so I always check size guides and measurements to make sure the item will generally fit correctly, and take it to my local tailor to make any necessary small adjustments.
I am 5’8, and based on the size guide a size S seemed like it should fit reasonably, however while the suit that arrived was labeled small, it fit oversized and billowy, and would be more appropriate for someone around 5’11”.
I ended up getting it tailored, as I needed it for a couple’s cosplay and didn’t have time to return it and continue searching, and ended up spending more than the suit cost due to it needing an overhaul to fit correctly.
Even then, the size and proportions of the suit, particularly the pockets, limited shortening the jacket by only 1”. While David Tennant is 6’1”, so of course the original design is meant to be larger, I don’t get the impression this company scales down their design to proportionately fit a smaller person.
Overall, the suit ended up working out, and paired next to my partner’s hand made Dalek ball gown the cosplay was a success. The suit itself however airs on the side of cartoonish, whereas if it had been proportioned correctly it could also pass as a real suit.
Overall, the build quality and material of the suit was nice and felt worth the price, however I can only rate 3 stars due to the major sizing issue.
